This weekend shot: Protect Me for LA Record, promos for Blood Is The New Black to run in Alternative Press mag (the mall punk mag!!!yes (not kidding), and for another magazine that caused me some grief.
Booked: Ubiquity's White Label Collection Look Book. Should be fun. I am excited to do a look book/catalog. It sucks that I haven't done one yet, and I won't be good for a few years. My friend Ash booked me and he's also the creative director so it will be: Ill/Game Over/ Murda Murda ect.
I kind of want to direct this shoe commercial also. I need to switch over to another blog format asap because I am too lazy to have links and show photos.
Positive life notes:

I made the Protect Me Blog. I am graffiti artist now. Tomorrow I am hanging out with neck.
On Sat 11/8 I went to a NO ON 8 PROTEST at Sunset Junction. I took the bus there. Obama being elected doesn't make up for how disgusted I am to be a Californian. I expect all the places I don't want to be to suck, but LA come on. I should be able to be really weird and progressive in my designated area. So that + transportation situations + living situations is really a sign I need to leave this country as soon as I can....Back to the protest. Well it was amazing. Thousands of like minded people non-violently peacefully proactively protesting. It was fun. And Almost as Gay as the eastside used to be before college girls moved in. Thats when you know its safe.
Aside from that I have realized I make very bad choices by agreeing to do work usually to help people. I pretty much have given up eating to not have to be anywhere ever and people will come at me with ridiculous requests.
On a good note there have been some really positive reactions to my work lately. I really appreciate that. I re wrote my about to reflect where I am coming from. A lot of people hustled in my family so at some point people(me) could choose to be poor. So I really feel I make art for the people. The people's photographer. I don't know if I get it because sometimes what I do is very specific and not really for large consumption. Or I think its my people. Maybe I am riding the bus too much. And it is really gratifying because no editor, director, client gets to tell me shit.
I am in production on a film about a dead raccoon. There is nothing like that smell. I get to see a dead raccoon first thing in the morning. This past month I wrote on a track for a week to be blown off, was asked to do metal video for no money, and was asked to write on bloc party after it was due. Thats why MUSIC VIDEOS ARE GREAT.

I might have work in a gallery for the next downtown art walk but have not decided. And Laszlo And Vilmos is going show at LACMA soon. That should be exciting since I could not make to Cannes or the oscar qualifiers.

I might move to China now. Yesterday I had fun in EAGLE ROCK. I like eagles very much. They are real cool please. My friend were all there and I got a high 5 from a NO AGE.

2 dae a coyote was by my house. echo park after dark. the eco parx coyote. it was cool. i took 3 pictures. it was my friend. (where are u know). iwas eating free food and a girl took my seet. so i walked to la brea but it was too hott. so i went back and sat by a fake tree. then i went to wildness 4 the gayz. my friend and i wanted to gang bang a boy scout. maybe it was just me. my friend is kool. i hated it because they are filming a movie on my street and i wanted to punch the girl i live with because she lied and should break her face.
i am making 3 music vidoez out of glass.
i am finally shooting again. been 2 long miss it. so in a long time i will live in berlin. but now in the meantime should i live in africa, or china. i want my face touched and to give autographs.

Last night I stayed up all night because I did not want my family do die. A tree from their yard smashed the state trooper's house next to theirs. Tonight I stayed up all because I am amazing. I have been shooting quite a bit. I will live in Berlin in 09 and will not live in America but will still and/or also have a place in LA. I will still live in Echo Parque. Gentrifiers are terrorist.

Terence's birthday is on the 21. I will wear all white, do 6 special acts, and I will talk to my mother, father and sister and make a photograph. I will ride my bike that day.

All I do is go to art shows now and eat and get drunk. Last night after two I went to Akbar which is essentially like going to an art show. My insides feel like a wrench usually when I first wake, but then I can sleep till forever because I have no reason to be anywhere ever.
This lady called asking me to make videos for $150. That is very funny to me. Then I quit everything and was cool. I lost my crystal in my friends car. I need to watch the olympics on a tv in echo parque. I don't have a tv. Also photoing boring ugly people is the saddest thing ever. I hate it. Carmen the wonderful boy I met: if you went home and broke up with you bf. Come to the top of the hill on reservoir. Ill be looking tuff in my NYU shirt or buying toothpaste today.
Also at one art show this craze/drug girl came up all cool as if people knew her as the 'down out of control loud girl'. BUT no on knew her and she sprayed my friends head with carrot oil. The strangest thing I have ever seen. Then a gangster laughed, threw up, and punch a metal wall. It was time to go.
So one of the only films I ever kinda cared about is screening in LA/NY. I have a few shots that made the cut which is awesome. Last year I began assisting the director/cinematgrapher. Did everything on this film and got to shoot some. I want to see it but can't afford to see films. Maybe I can get in for free for the seconds I shot. Maybe I have to see it b/c I couldn't go to Cannes because I never get taken anywhere cool except for slave labor.

Aug 10 I went to go to the river Texas. I reconnected with 4 rocks I collected a child. 1 is crystal. I got stuck in a tropical depression, and had to come back to LA for a photoshoot for spin. I shot the Enemy from Uk. I guess they have #1 records in that part of the world and are on the cover of NME every day. Polite young men, but stiff. The best part is having label people in my shitty ass apartment/studio in Echo Park with no AC.
I got really drunk the night before which is a great idea before a big job. Then went to 88 Boredoms and saw some old friends. Summer time here unites. I wanted to see the WB guy who told me it was hard to get in and 'you had to know someone'.

My friend made me go see Health. I like the sounds, but knew they would sound bad at the Smell. Kyle is the best DJ in LA. It sucks because I drank all my vodka and wasn't that drunk. The next day I saw John/Health at a place that has good food and we talked it out. He is cool. Then I almost got in trouble about GGD. Thats all I can say. Then went to Wildness and tried to bring a hot writer hunk. Nina invited me and her gayz dj'ed. It was full of Mexican trannies.
Tonight I was like fuck that...Then I said NO im going. I rode my bike and saw the Virgins. Some dude was like do you want to be on the guest list then I said ok. It was harsh because I bought this 3 dollar polish vodka that I tried to drink but all these cops vibed me. Spaceland is the worst place ever ever. ALL YUPPIES AND PEOPLE WITH JOBS AND WHITE COLLEGE KIDS. But I do like to see some of the college boyz/yuppies. The virgins were cool and free. I love saying " did you ever read my treatment..." my treatments never get pick and I am curious if they get passed anyone. Some people are like YES I DO REMEMBER yours and laugh.

I am leaving LA for 11 days. I don't want to leave, but I have to. Its not to be cool. Maybe if i can i will go to a river.
And my friend Ashkahn and I are formulating ideas for a show, which would be my first real gallery showing. I've shown while I was in school, but not in an actual gallery. I shoot editorially and direct various things to eat food, but I see the non-talented/shithead/junkie art market that I happen to fall in being really profitable. It will be fun I promise (for me duh). I really like dumpsters. I made this film about America once. Its only 5 seconds but I never edited or colored it. It was just about how dumpsters scenes are crazy in poor areas. And how poor areas have immigrants ect..So its called "Welcome to America".

Ok Yeasayer and Deerhunter are the best bands ever right now. Sunday I shot interviews all day for Spin at Download Fest. I was trying to get something with Yeasayer dudez, but no one really told me what was what. And magically I found out we were suppose to do something with them. Not only did that happen, but other than JMC I got to see Yeasayer live. Best day ever thanks to my crystals. Luke don't think I am stalker dude. Just so happens you are in the new drop. Floss guys, and M83 were cool to talk to as well. I could go on and on about that day, but I won't. More things with Spin from me, duh. At the same time I am currently accepting proposals to be the new LA boy wonder for other companies.
Back tracking, my people went LA premier "Wild Combination A Portrait Of: Arthur Russel". Ash did the flyer. Arthur Russell basically is the similar to Ray Johnson in a sense (broke and non famous alive). Arthur Russell is to electronic music as Joy Division/Vevlvet underground are to every fucking band. Matt Wolf did an amazing job with the film. At 26 he has a GREAT feature doc with distribution. Legit as fuck. New Yorkers check it out when it goes to IFC's first.

Been a good week yeah? Tonight shot video for Spin.com / TV what have you. It was for vh1 rock honors show and I was on the red carpet while cool guy Ben Lashes made fun of people and gave them gifts. The event/journalistic/paparazzi style is a bit different than shirtless boys I find dear. Ben just pulled shit out of his bag and gave to the stars. Poor David Duchovny was on pills, some Arquette lady claimed she acted(I do remember one of them from a shitty movie I worked on last summer), Brandon Incubus who was my 'idol' in highschool was a cool, we gave Rainn Wilson a brand new do rag and he hi-fived Ben and then made fun of ben for only being able to hi five...
What else Margeret Cho was a down bitch. She used bitch a bunch. And then talk to some old dudez who were cool too. Ill show a link when it is fair game. Oh and you get herded into groups as order of media importance. We (spin) was in first group new york times, rolling stone (barf, unless you want to hire me), and bbc ect..For the record ben and I looked like the pieces of shit from echo park that we are.

About 3 weeks ago I guess I shot some pop star Duffy for Spin TV. It was suppose to be 'low key' except she came directly from Leno and shit could not have been any more complicated. I sucked then next day I made an insane video (interview+ exclusive live set) with Dev from Lightspeed ex Test Icicles (my 2nd fav band ever). I killed that shit, but some stuff went sour like everyone wanting directing credit ect. And I don't where that will be. My site has some newer work and edits on it. Im re cutting all my videos.

I have been soo sick. Before I got sick I wrote a few treatments; one was about incest that had to be changed. That is soo sad. Its 2008 and I can't make a video about teen incest.

The Beta Movement is now repped by Lanette Phillips who reps one of my favorite dir's Darren Arronofsky. That is kind of epic for me. Real heat is from a good video not who is your rep.

This summer and sort of recently I worked all kinds of crew jobs. It quit making sense and now I need to only direct.
New things; new people; new money.
Also on the 15th if you are in NY Melanie Willhide is having an opening at Bellwhether in Chelsea. I more than highly recommend. She made me a good artist and worked for everyone (larry sultan/crewdson) and knows everyone and is soo good and was the first person to say i was good and to to show me rad art stuff. I will be the being there being young art guy.

Ok. I've been working a lil and trying to stay in the cave and clear my mind.
Ok (from last week) All I have to say is DASH SNOW IS A LEGEND. He is everything he is suppose to be and not be. He threw a rad free party. We all win.
So I know I just want to shoot for magazines and direct music videos only. But I cant exclusively do that.
I got kicked off a show for not being able to load mags fast enough. At the end of the day I got asked if I wanted to 'INTERN' on that film. I love interning. Because I have not done it enough. Then I gaffed on a film that was unorganized. I lit two scenes in like 7 hours. WTF. Then I slept.

To day I really needed this right now. I love the mean reds. And I love myself and I love making art videos. It would have been cool to be on top of the Kanye video.
DV Blog.org is like the rad site that shows the BEST wierd art progressive videos from ALL OVER THE WORLD. Not just lame american music videos from douche directors. Harmony Korine's music videos are on there; and now mine will be. I cant even deal with that right now.

Andrew Maze jump off. Today Cloud got denied for a music video channel in NY. Lady was crazy. You try convincing someone you are "underground and cutting edge"; whatever that means. Im not done with that lady. Nia or something....
And a publicist told me I'm an amateur photographer. I was like no hobbyist. But it wasn't the negative or anything.
Hung out with Natalie again. We shot each other(photo below) in her hood. I forgot the name of the modeling agency she got signed to (i said because i shot her joking). She lives in an art gallery and wants to show me this andy warhol film called bad. I like people who think he's so not good they get all pissed and cite some lame painter as the best thing.
Here am I on the phone to Peres Projects people about "performing" for a Dash video. It involved a light box, film crew, transvestites, and young men ejaculating. Money is legit, but I did not feel like waiting in a room so I passed.
His show is tomorrow then Mika Miko and Abe Vigoda kill the after party.
I shot this video and made it legit (frame splits, coloring, hype). I am no longer working with older people who are not good. I learned to get everything in a contract. There is no better feeling than an director and editor coloring something you shot. Game over for people like that.
Tomorrow Im shooting Dean and Randy's (no age's) ramp for Readymade magazine. This will be my first print spot from a US magazine. I never new if my stuff made print for Dazed and Confused.....I like No Age so much I am going to there house and hang out when they are not there.
Also shooting Crystal Castles next week. I was suppose to shoot them like 17 times ago, but it never worked. Almost did a music video twice.....kinda. So am I excited. Those will go to a tbd magazine.

LA is crazy now. Saw Paper Moon on big screen last week; the old important crowd was around. This week Abe Vigoda Killed it with Matt and Kim.
Was thinking about seeing Abe again, but didn't think i'd finish Dommm but then my friend says "come to Animal Collective you're all access". So I went it was rad. Everyone was there. Shout Outs to Sean Carlson of never ever calling me back fame, Peter at Domino, super nice Ethan Swan of CAR CLUTCH and BARR. Leo Fitzpatrick (Kids) was there too and shit was about to get nasty at the after party but one of the girls I was with wanted to go home. Considering what I do and her job its kind of important to go these parties, but maybe she thought she could make more money by being home. Thanks lady I just lost some videos and possible waking up in a strange place in the hollywood hills.
Sat. is nasty. The after party is Mika Miko and Abe Vigoda (so good now, like they really stepped it up for LA, cuz NO AGE got famous). Party in west hollywood or Chinawtown. Dash's show will be rad and I will get my self in trouble I hope. And crazy cuz Dash just shot natalie and she is all over my new stuff (girl below and on my homepage) ect.....

Aug 29 Mega Blog Time (2nd post in one day again). But I do need to switch gears from films.
Ok how do I begin. Went to pre fuck yeah fest party. Rad place in hills not sure if franklin hills or hollywood his. Dean and Randy were bringing the deerhunter people their shirts. Badford was asleep somewhere so I never saw him. I was hungry, but we were waiting on NO AGERS to arrive and eat. I left for work.
Was suppose to operate on a french film but my friend got fired as dp (serious issues with that though). Then went to Sunday Fuck Yeah Fest. Everyone rad was there. Met up with Anthony (ex mean reds) and Evan from Wires on fire. It is a ritual now that I see them. Mainly saw NO AGE and Deerhunter. It was a rad night. Karen O is really beautiful in real life. It would have been cool to have been introduced to her but then later she ran into me with Interscope A&R douche guy I think.
Then went back to last day acing on feature. Then out of no where DP boss man tells me to go shoot some 2nd unit stuff. EXCITED I WAS. So I cannot really believe I shot 2nd unit on a feature but it is how it has to be.
Today argued with Director douche over music video color timing. Then
